The Proper Way to Burn a Candle
We want you to learn to burn a candle responsibly and safely yet be able to enjoy the wonderful scent of the candle.
Alot of people don't know the proper way to burn a candle so we created this page for you.
First and foremost ALWAYS use extreme caution when burning a candle. ALWAYS keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. Never leave the wick get any bigger or you will have a high flame while burning. NEVER leave a burning candle unattended. Accidents happen and we don't want you to burn yourself or anything else. ALWAYS burn your candles on a heat resistant surface. ALWAYS keep away from children and pets. ALWAYS keep a burning candle out of a draft or away from an open window or fan. PLEASE DO NOT burn your candle under a cabinet or around curtains or anything flammable. DO NOT pick up a burning container, it will be hot. Don't tip your candle with a melt pool inside. Wax can stain clothing and carpet.
Please just use common sense and enjoy your candles.
When you first light a jar candle let it come to a full melt pool before you blow it out or it will never reach a full melt pool.
When burning a pillar candle make sure it is on a plate or candle tin. As it burns to the outer edge gently form the warming wax around so the melt pool doesn't spill over the sides. Once it spills over the sides your candle will burn away faster.
Always extinguish the candle using a candle snuffer.
